Joint Resolution Advocates for Teaching the Whole Curriculum

On June 5, 2008, Assemblyman Gene Mullin (D- San Mateo) introduced with principal coauthor Senator Jack Scott (D - Pasadena) Assembly Joint Resolution 64, which urges the United States Congress "to recognize the importance of curriculum and instruction covering all subjects, including history / social science...." The measure would also, "...urge school districts, county offices of education, and charter schools to focus teaching the whole child in a wider curriculum and would urge the ... inclu[sion] of all subjects in the assessment and accountability system." =20
